Why Do We Serve God? –  我们为什么要侍奉上帝？ 

Jeremiah 45 5 And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the Lord: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.

耶利米书 45章 5节 你为自己图谋大事吗？不要图谋！我必使灾祸临到凡有血气的。但你无论往哪里去，我必使你以自己的命为掠物。这是耶和华说的。

Why Do We Serve God?
我们为什么要侍奉上帝？

It is always good to do some self-examination.
自我反省总是好的。

The Lord uses this verse to question us-
主用这节经文来问我们：

Are we serving God to further our own agenda?
我们侍奉上帝是为了推进我们自己的事项吗？

Are our motives pure before God?
我们的动机在上帝面前纯洁吗？

God requires not just outward purity in our service for him, but our motives/inner life must be pure.
上帝不仅要求我们在侍奉他时外表纯洁，而且我们的动机/内在生活也必须纯洁。

God tells us to, are we seeking to further ourselves and to enhance our standing in the world?
上帝告诉我们，我们是在寻求进一步发展自己并提高我们在世界上的地位吗？

It is dangerous, especially for people who share gospel truths online, to seek their own agenda, God says:
寻求自己的议程是危险的，尤其是对于那些在网上分享福音真理的人来说，上帝说：

Seek Them Not
不要寻求他们

All of us, me especially need to check our motives, we must remember we are not here to promote ourselves but Christ.
我们所有人，尤其是我，都需要检查我们的动机，我们必须记住我们来这里不是为了宣传自己，而是为了宣传基督。
