Four Blood Moons

                                                       Why the moon turns red

Sunlight is a light spectrum that passes through the earth’s atmosphere. The greens and blues are filtered out with the red being untouched. The red light spectrum bends from the atmosphere toward the earth’s surface then exits bending again. The double bending shoots the red light toward the moon giving it the “blood “effect.

“The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.” Joel 2:31

                                                         Four Blood Moons defined

A “tetrad” is when four consecutive lunar eclipses occur in a row and this phenomenon has occurred only 3 times in the last 500 years. The first three total lunar eclipses occurred over a two year period. The first occurred in 1493-1494 and the second in1948-1949. The third occurred in 1967-1968 and the fourth started in 2014 and will end in 2015.

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and    notable day of the Lord come.” Acts 2:20

Israel’s history is directly tied to the Four Blood Moons

The previous “Four Blood Moon” cycles occurred during the “Passover” and the “Feast of Trumpet” holidays in 1493-1494, the second occurred during the “Passover” and the “Feast of Tabernacle” in 1949-1950, the third on the “Passover” and the “Feast of Tabernacle” in 1967-1968. The fourth is currently transpiring which began in April of 2014 ending in September of 2015. This fourth one occurs during the “Passover” and the “Feast of Tabernacles” and the “Feast of Trumpets.” Notice the fourth “Four Blood Moons” involves the “Feast of Tabernacles” and” Feast of Trumpets” combined with the “Passover” where the previous three involved the “Passover” and one or the other feasts. Does this mean there will be double significance tied to Israel’s history during this fourth “Four Blood Moon” cycle?

“I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red.” Revelation 6:12

How the “Four Blood Moons” effected and will affect the Jewish people

In 1492 nearly 200,000 Jews were commanded by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain (in the Alhambra decree) to leave the country. The Jewish people settled in Spain after 200A.D. and became so intertwined in the Spanish culture that history cannot separate the influence the cultures had on one another. Months after the “Four Blood Moons” manifested signaling that major event that defined Jewish History. God intervened by Christopher Columbus discovering America and today this country is home to over 5 million Jews.

1948 comes rolling down the halls of Jewish history and we find that Israel declares herself a nation as Jewish people flock to their native homeland from around the world. The war of independence broke out with Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq’s armies invading Israel’s defined borders within 24 hours. The war raged for the next 15 months with Israel’s ill equipped Defence Army defeating the combined armies of the foreign invaders. God once again intervened on His people’s behalf and delivered them out of their enemy’s hand.

“So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah59:19 this verse was literally fulfilled in this war against Israel’s enemies. The “Four Blood Moons” occurred after this eventful war in 1949-1950.

1967 the famous six day war rages in the Middle East as Israel starts an attack on June 5, 1967 against Egypt in the North then Israel counter attacked Jordan in the East. Israel wrapped up the war with a very decisive victory over Syrian forces entrenched in the Golan Heights to the North. The 6 day war greatly enhanced Israel’s borders by giving them Judea, Samaria, Gaza, the Sinai Peninsula, and the Golan Heights. God gave the Jewish people the “promised land” again, after Israel was scattered abroad for so many years. The “Four Blood Moons” occurring concurrently with the Israeli 6 day war1967-1968.

Next, the first “blood” moon started on April 15 2014, on “Passover” (is explained in Exodus 12:12-13 “On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every first born of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord.  The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.”) The second “blood” moon appeared on October 8, 2014 on Sukkot (A major autumn Jewish festival beginning on the 15th day of Tishri. Israel celebrates their protection in the wilderness. ) No. 3 “Blood Moon occurred on April 4, 2015 on the “Passover” and the fourth” blood” moon will coincide with “Sukkot” September28,2015.

Two major events tied to Israel in the current “blood” moon cycle: Israel goes to war with the Hamas in summer 2014, anti-Semitism growing to highest levels in Europe since the 1930’s. Will this “blood” moon cycle usher in the second coming of Christ? Only God knows?

Four Blood Moons are central to the second coming of Jesus Christ

The “Four Blood Moons” have coincided with major events in Israel’s redemptive history. Each time this phenomenon has happened major events have been orchestrated by God in pulling Israel back into the flow of His Redemptive plan. On a larger scale these moon “blood” signs have pointed the earth to its final renewal at the second coming of Jesus Christ. Each event has brought the unknowing non-Christian world that much closer to the summation of human history in Jesus Christ.

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.  For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.  For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matthew 24:36-39

How the Four Blood moons affect every Christian on planet earth

The “Four Blood Moons” remind Christians today to look up for their salvation draws nigh. “When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near” Luke 21:28. Each believer should be about their Father’s business and getting the gospel out through every means available in today’s digital age.

We need to take the scriptures concerning the “blood” moon to heart and meditate on God and His greatness and stay close to Him through prayer bible reading and bible meditation. Our faith grows by hearing/obeying the Word of God. We faithfully practice these disciplines and we will know about God and know Him more intimately. Take heed every Christian for our redemption draws nigh!

Final Word

We have seen how the “Four Blood Moons” have been rare occurrences over the last 500 years or so. Each moon “blood” display in the heaven lies has marked significant events in Israel’s history. They have represented major tragedies for Israel that God has turned into history changing victories for them. Christians worldwide can apply these signs in the heaven lies to their daily walk with Jesus by reading/meditating on His Word regarding their personal relationship with Him. They must draw closer to Him now than ever before as these previous “Four Blood Moons” spoke of the world drawing closer to the second coming. The current “blood” moon cycle tells us that Jesus Christ second coming is right around the corner. Thank you for taking the time to read this article.
