Full Of Life

Don’t you dearly adore the ‘is-ness’ of God? In other words, He’s present right now. Emmanuel (God with us) today. Shall we agree with the Psalmist? The Lord IS my shepherd, this hour. The Lord IS my Light and Salvation so I will not fear, this minute. The Lord IS my strong refuge and help in time of trouble, this second. The Lord Almighty IS my Rock and I will not be moved, this nanosecond. You understand and indeed it’s true. That’s right and there’s more. Amazingly, He lives within the heart of every believer at the same time in the form of the Holy Spirit (Psalm 139:7-10).

Let’s take a quick pause and search our hearts—do you and I really rest upon His all-sufficient power? Do we honestly believe He IS everything we need? I have to admit, at times I believe and sometimes I doubt. After all, life trips us up. And, in many instances, we fall down all by ourselves. Yet, we must strive to understand who we are in Him. Furthermore, we’re part of something bigger than ourselves because He placed eternity in our hearts “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy] (Eccl 3:11a Amp).

Not only does Calvary’s cross offer the sweet release of sin’s grip but it erases our past, giving us an original beginning. We have the exalted privilege of being draped inside the Beloved and remaining in Him ‘just as if we’ve never sinned’ (Romans 4:25). Over the years, I’ve realized God’s not stingy. He gives the kind of opulent love we cannot afford and produces gushing rivers overflowing out of us to refresh others. We’re delicately designed to venerate a cup-running-over-more-than-enough Father who causes holy things to grow with love. Yep, we’re full of life. His life!

“Be not perplexed, be not afraid, everything passes, God does not change. Patience wins all things. He who has God lacks nothing; God alone suffices.” ~~~Teresa of Avila 1515-1582
