When God Sends The Morning – Give Thanks!

Job 38:12 “Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;”

Tucked in the whirlwind of God’s questioning to Job, this verse shines quietly. It’s not typically quoted as a declaration of love—but look closer. The Lord reveals that even the morning obeys His voice. The dayspring, the first light, is not random. It is placed—set intentionally by a God of order and mercy. This same intentionality applies to us. If He causes the dawn to rise in its place, how much more will He order the seasons of our lives with compassion and care?

O Maker of mornings and the paths of stars, You do not forget to send the light nor fail to clothe the earth in warmth. You are mindful of dust and galaxies alike. I praise You, not only for what You give but for how gently You place it.

This verse humbles us. We do not command the morning, but we wake into it, gifted. It quiets the temptation to control outcomes. Life is not random. God’s love is as regular as the sunrise. Each new beginning, though silent and subtle, is a loud act of His faithfulness. We are not called to be in control—we are called to trust the One who already is.

You alone are worthy, O LORD—high and lifted above every rising sun. The heavens declare Your glory, but my soul joins the chorus with trembling joy. You are not distant in majesty, but intimate in mercy. You who spoke light into being have also spoken life into me. I exalt You, not just as the God of grandeur, but as the God who kneels beside the dawn, placing each ray with tenderness. Be glorified in the rhythm of creation and in the quiet chambers of my heart. Yours is the kingdom, the brilliance, the breath, and the beauty—forever and always.

“Dear LORD- thank You for the mornings I didn’t command but woke into because of You. Teach me to greet each dawn as proof that You have not forgotten me.  In Jesus glorious name, Amen.”

  1. God had set everything in its place,
to function at its specified pace.
In two separate events He chose to move time back,
His creation obeyed the Master without a moments slack.
Whether a fish with a coin in its mouth,
Or a raven that gives no second thought, in a time of a lengthy drought.
    One was used to release a gift in Peter’s hand;
The other heard God’s command to feed a man,
who chose to take a faithful stand.
Yet when it comes to the average man, we look for a different plan.
Hesitation gets in the way that makes us stumble,
So how should we answer to our Maker, our Savior?
I conclude, it starts by being humble.
And being thankful that His love, mercy, and grace brings us back into His favor.
