John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
Jesus spoke these words on the eve of His crucifixion — a moment when fear, uncertainty, and sorrow filled the air. Yet He told His disciples not to let their hearts be troubled. Not because the world was safe, but because He is trustworthy.
Today, trouble presses in from every side. The world feels unstable, unpredictable, and often frightening. But Jesus’ words still stand: Let not your heart be troubled. This is not denial — it is defiance. A holy refusal to let fear rule the heart that belongs to God.
To love God in this world is to anchor your heart in His promises rather than the world’s chaos. It is to remember that Christ has gone to prepare a place for you, that He will return, and that nothing happening now is outside His plan. The world may shake, but the believer’s foundation does not.
Trouble may knock at your door, but it does not have the right to live in your heart. Christ’s peace is not fragile. It is not dependent on circumstances. It is rooted in His unchanging nature. When we choose trust over fear, we declare that our hope is not in this world but in the One who overcame it.

What fear is trying to trouble your heart today, and how can you surrender it to Christ?
“LORD, calm my troubled heart. Remind me of Your promises, Your presence, and Your power. Help me trust You more deeply and prepare me for the day You return in glory. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Powerful words that comes from trusting Him. The One who is the Foundation and created the foundations of the vast world and universe holds it all in His hands.
Troubles and sorrows will come but so will He if you have a relationship with Him.
Yes, our first response is typically panic, fear, irritation, or trying to take control. Boy do we ever need to learn to lean on Him so we decide to think more clearly and respond in the right way that says that He has got this! He is able and nothing can overthrow Him.
Just as He did when He went to the cross and took our punishment for we are completely helpless in this area of our lives. We cannot even add on our ‘good works’ to His sacrifice. It would be an insult to even attempt that this would be acceptable or necessary to the saving of our souls.
Rejoicing that He does all things well!
May we take the time to ask the Holy Spirit to quiet our fears and sorrows so that we are trusting instead of worrying.
