Finding Strength When Life Seems Impossible

Finding Strength When Life Seems Impossible

By Joel B.

Friends, there is not a person in the world who has not faced hard times. However, just because life seems rough at times doesn’t mean we should give up or get frustrated. When life gives us adversity we need to find a source of strength to help us push forward. I believe that source should be the Word of God. Let’s look at some scripture to understand this better.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

This verse is short and right to the point. With God nothing is impossible. This is where our starting point needs to be with all our problems. If you start with God, then the impossible becomes possible. You see, God is not only our loving Creator, but He is also someone we can utilize to work through life’s complexities and trials.

Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Again, we have a short but powerful verse that tells us how to deal with life, and that is with Christ. The neat thing about scriptures like this is that they are promised. You are promised that you can do all things through Christ, who gives you strength.

Matt 11:29-30 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

This scripture brings it all home. We find out that we can not only find strength for dealing with issues in our lives, but that Christ also reduces our burdens and allows us to find rest in Him. This is spiritual reduction. Your seemingly big problem is actually a speck of a problem for the Lord. He will walk you through it when you look to Him and even give you rest. It just comes down to faith and trust.

I don’t want to end this article without giving an example of how the impossible becomes possible. So let’s look at the story of David and Goliath. David did one tide-turning thing in his battle with Goliath and that was proclaiming the battle belongs to the Lord. Once he made that declaration, it was all but over. The same applies to life. Once we give things, including ourselves, over to God the battle is already won.

In closing, I just want to say that no matter what you are going through God cares. He knows the trials you are facing and the struggles you may be having. He wants to relieve you of your burdens, but it’s up to you to give the battle to the Lord and let Him take control. Once you do that, rest on Christ and just have patience. The promises of the Lord will not fail. Thank you for reading and God bless.
