Helping Meet Your Spouse Spiritually, Even Before You Meet

Sometimes people are in a hurry to meet that special someone, but they don’t think that their future significant other may be in the battle of their life. Not just their physical life, but their spiritual life as well. They could be dealing with sin issues, or even trying to overcome insecurities that the enemy is trying to put in their mind. This is your call to stand up and war for them before you even meet.

Your Mate Is Not Their Past Sin

For all believers it is imperative that your future spouse is a fellow believer. The Holy Bible is very specific about not being unequally yoked (2 Cor 6:14). Part of the reason for this is that when you embrace love with a believer, you are joining together with someone who has been made a new creation (2 Cor 5:17). This is key, because their sinful past is no longer their past. God has tossed aside their transgressions and made them worthy of His eternal kingdom (2 Thess, 1:5, Psa 103:12) . If our Heavenly Father casts their sin aside, we should too.

Fighting Against The Gap

What about those seeking love who haven’t met their future mate yet? Well, think of it like this; you can bridge that gap. Start praying for them and begin proclaiming holy things into the heavens for their and your future together. Remember, we can move mountains with our faith and the fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much (Matt 21:21, James 5:16). So stand in that gap with your partner and help them fight that battle they may be facing.

Aided By The Holy Spirit

Allow me to tell you something very exciting. God doesn’t just rely on our prayers and proclamations, but He also intercedes for us with prayerful groans through His Holy Spirit. Yes, powerful groans uttering things so Holy they cannot be spoken by our tongues. These groans exercise the will of God for the saints, which include your believing future spouse (Romans 8:26-27).

Congratulations, You’ve Won

So you’ve bridged the gap aided by faith and the Holy Spirit, and now it’s just a matter of God stepping in with his perfect timing. How will you meet? Who will you meet? Will he bring flowers on that first date? Will he even open the door for you? These are life’s questions that God will help you to workout together, but the most important thing is that God has brought you TOGETHER. The victory is achieved, and now you can stand together, in love, in life, and in Jesus Christ.

Final Thought

Love isn’t always simple, but it’s the very essence of God. Finding that special someone is not only a spiritual union, but it’s a journey filled with blessings. The Holy Bible declares:

Prov 18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

Isn’t that powerful? You not only get a mate, but you have now obtained favor with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Wow, that’s amazing. Blessings, upon blessings, upon blessings. So start fighting for your partner today. Thank you for reading and God bless.

How are you fighting for that future special someone, today?

  1. A great and encouraging message!!

  2. Hmmmm… I’ve never thought of bringing to God in prayer, the issues of a spouse I haven’t even met….interesting perception indeed.
I do know about praying for that significant soul-mate though. Yet even after all that praying, sometimes it’s hard to identify the one sent directly from God. I wish “Mr. Right” would come with a name tag…”To: Amelia Brown, From: God”

    • Amelia,

I hear what you’re saying. It would be nice if we carried around tags like that. However, things will happen with God’s timing. May God bring that special someone to you in his perfect timing. God bless.
