The United Nations has a plan called the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. There are 17 goals in a global effort to end poverty, promote peace, protect the rights of all people, and save the planet. All of this is supposed to happen by the year 2030. It has been referred to as the Master Plan for Humanity.
God has had a master plan for humanity since the beginning of creation. It all began when He created male and female (Genesis 1:27). He planned for marriage to be between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24). God placed them in a perfect environment called the Garden of Eden with a free will to do whatever they wanted except to not eat of the forbidden fruit, but being deceived and disobedient, they did the one thing they were warned not to do. So sin entered the world.
Over time, humanity became very rebellious against God and much evil entered the world. So God sent a universal flood that wiped out the global population, except Noah’s family, which was faithful and obedient to him (Genesis 6:5, 11-12).
As more time went by, humanity once again became arrogant, thinking that it could do anything without God, so God confused their languages at the Tower of Babel, making it impossible to communicate (Genesis 11:1-7).
God established the nations (Acts 17:26-27) and instituted government (Romans 13:1), giving all people a chance to rule themselves and to seek after him.
Eventually, God sent his son, Jesus, to earth to show us how to live, and offer forgiveness and redemption, that whoever accepts him as their savior can have eternal life (John 3:16).
At every turn of events God has given humanity an opportunity to acknowledge him, but for the most part he has been rejected (Romans 1:19-23). To one degree or another, many have gone against what God created and instituted, and have not experienced life as God intended. He has wanted each and every person from the beginning of creation to come to know him, and to come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4), but with all the learning have never arrived to that point (2 Timothy 3:7). What is truth? Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except by me” (John 14:6). But “the God of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” )II Corinthians 4:4). Therefore, the world is seeing all the things listed in Romans 1:24-32.
God knew from the beginning that the human race would mess up and not live as he planned, so it would need a Savior from its own deception and destruction. He provided a way of salvation through the person of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:15 and Acts 4:12). Accept him and become part of God’s master plan for humanity. Do it soon, because his judgment is coming, and every person is accountable to him.
John, thank you for your timely article presenting the gospel from a little different perspective!
I surely prefer God’s Master Plan over the UN’s master plan. Praise the Lord that He is in control!
