“I Can Do It Too”: A Future of Men with Wombs

Seems like we women are trapped in a game of “I Can Do It Too” with the opposite sex. It started when society decided to associate girls with the color pink. Then men wanted the color too. So, we said okay. Since a color is just a color, men you can wear pink and look cool too. But then it gets worse. We wear tight fitting clothes; men are wearing it too. We own the titles of girlfriend, wife, and mother; men want that too. We have the sacred privilege of getting pregnant and giving birth. Now, men want in on that too!

In an effort to call a homosexual unit a family, those involved yearn for children. As a result, they utilize other methods that will get them the same results. Some adopt and others find surrogate mothers. It’s becoming more accessible for gay men to find surrogate mothers. Menhavingbabies.org is a website dedicated to assisting and educating gay men wanting to have children, about surrogacy. Additionally, they also offer financial assistance.

In the near future, modern technology may be able to provide a way for men to get pregnant and have children. According to an article on Yahoo Health: “ … the Cleveland Clinic is performing uterus transplant surgery on women who were born without a womb or whose uterus is diseased or malfunctioning.” Such news inspired the question: If a woman can get a uterus transplant, can men get it too?

Dr. Karine Chung, director of the fertility preservation program at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine, answered “yes” to this question … and the game of “I-Can-Do-It-Too” continues. Uterus transplants are still in the research phase. However, in a couple of months the Cleveland Clinic team plans to transplant uteri from deceased donors into UFI (Uterine Factor Infertility) female patients. Their effectiveness could be the biggest determining factor in further research for uterus transplants in men.

As unbelievable as this all may seem, the idea is not too far-fetched. Currently, medical advances are allowing transgender women to adjust their hormones, have lactating breasts and a surgically constructed vagina. With time, extensive research and countless experiments, men having babies may soon become a reality.

None of this is in God’s plan. If God wanted men to have breasts and a vagina, His original design would include them. If God wanted men to be able to carry a child, He would have created their bodies with this capability. When God made everything—humans included—He looked at it all and saw that it was good (Genesis 1:31). He didn’t have second thoughts, everything was exactly the way He wanted it. John 16:21 also made it clear that women, not men, give birth. Still, some of us creatures insist on making a habit out of belittling and underestimating the creator. This ought not to be so.

Men, how would you respond to a man wanting to exchange his male anatomy for a female one?

  1. Amelia, I read and give a deep sigh while shaking my head. I tremble at the thought of God’s reaction to pushing this envelope as well as so many others. We desperately need to return to God’s design in all ways!
Thanks for informing us of this sad new, “me, too” game.

  2. Thank you for stopping by and commenting, Stephanie. We really do need to get back to God’s original design… But the sad truth is that things will get a whole lot worst before it get’s better. We’re in the end times, and the actions of men continue to prove this sad fact.
