Titanic Faith

Remember the Titanic and the ‘tip of the iceberg’?  You never know what lurks beneath and so it is with life.  Things are RARELY what they seem and our faith if no different.  We can talk a good game all day long, but when the rubber meets the road where will your faith lie?  And in whom will it lie?  The book of James in our Holy Bible makes reference to faith being made obvious by our works. (James 2:14-26)  As you search for yourself you will find that the inspired Word of God speaks in length on this issue of faith in the book of James, and elsewhere in the books of the Bible.

On the other side of that coin, Satan has used such tactics since the dawn of time.  He, like faith, may appear small, yet underneath and so very often, hidden from plain sight, is a large destructive enemy whose only goal is to bring you down with him to the pit of Hell!  Bear in mind, IT ONLY TOOK ONE BITE OUT OF A SMALL SIMPLE PIECE OF FRUIT TO SINK THE ENTIRE WORLD FOR ALL OF HISTORY!!!!!  And, like the great ocean-liner, Titanic, we KNOW what lies behind, but we know NOT what lies ahead.  So when the spirit within us alerts us to danger ahead, will we heed the warning?  Will we turn the ship of our lives around and reject the evil intents of our heart?  Will we instead put our full faith and HOPE in the Creator of this universe and believe His word when He calls us to a future hope?   (Jeremiah 29:11-13) When He tells us plainly from His Word what to do and how to act and to REALLY BELIEVE Him?

I read a story concerning a beautiful tree lined street where a gas main running underneath was leaking and slowly poisoning the trees.  Is your life being poisoned from beneath?

Another ‘water event’ to take to heart is as in the days of Noah. (Genesis chapters 6-9)  The people did not believe a flood was eminent.  They did not possess the FAITH to believe God’s warning.  They, so much like our present century, did not see the big picture, the danger that lay beneath.   What was a BIG problem to God was a small concern to them.  They liked life as it was, on their terms, not God’s terms.  They did not response to God’s command to be holy as He is Holy.

So we take our faith and make it certain.  We choose to take God at His word and believe His warnings.  We do so, even if it is not popular with the world around us. We take our small faith, see what is beneath and realize we can’t do it alone.  The Rock is beneath us, the bulk of the iceberg is Jesus.  There really is more to faith than what we perceive.  And, my friends, hope really does float.  When the roll is called up yonder will YOU be there?

  3. Annie, this was such a great word that spoke healing into my life today. I have been under terrible spiritual oppression for several days and I spent last night telling the Lord that I trust Him and pushing aside all my thoughts of doubt. I held onto my faith that He is in control and early this morning I felt a lifting in my spirit and the darkness was gone. When I read this article, I knew that this was the right time to read it and it brought tears to my eyes to know that my friend Annie had written this it strengthen my soul. Keep writing Annie, this world needs you!!!!!
