A Love Beyond Measure
I love Christ, the boundless Word,
The echoing pulse where time is heard.
Before the stars were cast in flight,
He willed the dark to birth the light.
I love Christ, whose hands unmade,
The tyranny of death’s cascade.
Each thorn, each lash, each piercing blade,
Upon His flesh, our ransom paid.
I love Christ, whose heart unchained,
The fractured soul, the sinner stained.
His mercy—oceans, fathoms deep,
Where weary hands find rest and keep.
I love Christ, the cosmic breath,
The conqueror of hell and death.
No power remains, no foe withstands,
His mighty love, His Sovereign hands.
I love Christ, who calls the lost,
Whose love was measured in the cost.
Through ancient wood, through blood Divine,
The gate was forged, the veil declined.
I love Christ, whose voice ignites,
The trembling dawn, the sacred heights.
No ruler sways, no empire stands,
Against the grip of nail-pierced hands.
I love Christ, my risen King,
Who silenced graves and clipped death’s sting.
The universe bows low to see,
The Lamb enthroned in majesty.
I love Christ, whose love remains,
Through all my sins, through all my chains.
For even heavens fade and burn,
Yet He is faithful—He returns!
Ephesians 3:17-19 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
This above passage reminds us that Christ’s love is beyond measure—stretching across eternity, embracing every soul willing to receive it, and filling us with Divine fullness. His sacrifice was the ultimate expression of that love, proving that He is not just Creator, but Redeemer, Sustainer, and the source of life itself. This is a love incomprehensible, immeasurable, unfathomable woven into the very fabric of creation, sealed by sacrifice, revealed in glory.
May His name be praised, forever and ever!
Dr. David Jeremiah says in reference to this verse: “Its breadth reminds us that his arms reach around the globe…it’s length reminds us that his love extends from eternity past to eternity future…its height reminds us that it reaches to the very throne of God…its depth reminds us that his love addresses the deepest needs of the human heart.”
Oh John – that’s so beautiful!
I enjoy Dr. Jeremiah too, never heard that – thank you for sharing with us.
