Christ Has Won

I wrote this short poem a few weeks ago.  I recently stumbled upon some Christian poetry that I loved and wanted to try and create some of my own. I hope this one is edifying. God Bless.

1Corinthians 15:57 But thanks [be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

He shall bring the victory over sin,
Even when the devil boasts, I’ve already won
Christ died for us we are new again .

Satan roams the Earth wearing a grin
Momentarily forgotten about the Son
He shall bring the victory over sin .

The demons tempt just one more spin
looking to keep us busy with fun
but Christ died for us we are new again.

We watch them tempt, even our next of kin
We’ve been there before we cannot shun
He shall bring the victory over sin.

Beaten down by life, grit wearing thin
We forget about the coming one
Christ died for us we are new again .

Alone we think we will not win
I’m tired of fighting the battle is done
He shall bring the victory over sin
Christ died for us we are new again. 

This victory is eternal. We play no part in it. We struggle through it with His help. This is why we are to hide God’s word in our hearts. To be better able to withstand the trials and tribulations that come to pass.
